Classical Discoveries (WPRB)From 1997 on the air at WPRB 103.3 FM Princeton, Classical Discoveries is a live weekly radio program hosted and produced by the American pianist, musicologist and music educator, Marvin Rosen. Program devoted to little known repertoire of all musical periods with an emphasis on the old (Baroque and before), the "New Classical Music" and living composers. Classical Discoveries Goes Avant-Garde was created in 2007 (till 2013) and was devoted to more modern and electronic music. In October 2005, Classical Discoveries received the prestigious ASCAP Deems Taylor Radio Broadcast Award.
Over the years Classical Discoveries has presented many World and American broadcast premieres as well as special programs featuring early music and music from other countries and regions. Classical Discoveries airs Wednesdays 05:30am -11:00am.
In addition, there have been hundreds of other specials devoted to different themes, topics, subjects, historical periods, etc. These programs include live 24-hour music marathons, musical portraits of living composers, music for the holidays, music by women composers, music by American composers and live interviews with composers, performers and music personalities. Classical Discoveries was the first program in the history of classical radio in the US to present a 5 hour special devoted to music from Azerbaijan.'
